Achieve Business RockStarDom

My good friend Travis Holliday recently sent me the ebook Why Every Company Should Be A Rockband by Henriette Weber, a Social Business Expert on the verge of online/offline business practices.  This really delighted me because it has always been one of my secret fantasy professions to be a rockstar.  Now I can be a rockstar doing what I'm good at within my own business, and still live my secret dreamlife.

Besides reading Henriette's ebook, to achieve business RockStarDom, I recommend getting in touch with your inner rockstar. Henriette defines a Rockstar as somebody who is "doing what they are extremely good at".

This was a tough one for me because I am extremely good at the art of doing nothing. I spend hours on Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, indiegogo, youtube, blip, vimeo and the social networking sites that I have set up myself, sbindies.com and surferdivas.com.  I recently helped set up sbschooltalk.com. I love social networking, both real live interactions and virtual ones.

In addition to my continous online networking, I am constantly blogging.  Besides this blog, I also maintain loveproject.tv, and several other personal blogs that I won't name.

When I am not online networking or blogging, I am writing scripts and thinking up new schemes for documentary projects, strange inventions and ideas for books. I am a great idea person.  But ideas are meaningless without execution.  So how do I validate my RockStarDom?

By recongnizing my weaknesses as strengths, I can utilize my social media madness to promote these same qualities.  Not everyone enjoys blogging, creating and distributing videos, and setting up and moderating social networking sites like I do.  And nearly every business owner can benefit from utilizing these primarily free methods of marketing.  Take Obama's campaign as a success story in the power of social media and you get what I mean.  If you aren't utilizing social media to promote your business, you are not tapping into the most incredibly powerful marketing tool in the world.

And if your inner rock star doesn't like to blog, or create cool videos to post online, or participate in social networking sites, don't worry, that's not what you are supposed to be doing.  Focus on what you are extremely good at, and hire somebody like me to do it for you.

You can achieve Business RockStarDom, and you won't regret it.

Taymar, I LOVE your prose, your wit and your humor! You will go far in this life my friend. I know it.

You are rockstar unrealized. Eventually, you will actualize and I feel sorry for those who come up against you!

Keep up the good work and your willingness to share your thoughts and ideas. You have a gift that so many of us wish we had!

One criticism tho- insyead of saying "friend" why not put my name (and a link to my website!) in your post! Glad you liked the book and even more happy that it caused you to reflect and then share!

Love you!

Travis
